Many people wonder why they are not able to listen to the audio tracks they have copied from a CD. The answer is simple: they did not copy the audio as such but shortcuts to the tracks. Copying the songs from a music CD implies extracting the information contained there and converting it into one of the digital formats available, a process popularly known as “ripping”.
Rippme is a software utility intended to rip CDs. This program is capable of retrieving information about the CD – like author, titles, etc. – from the Internet and fill the corresponding file tags. In addition, it will let you get the CD cover from Amazon and insert it into the resulting mp3 files. Despite its apparent unattractiveness, the interface is very easy to use and you will be able to carry out the whole process in just a few steps. Another advantage of this program is that you can get a portable version to run from an external storage device with no need for installation.
Now, if you want to use Rippme, go ahead. As for me, I do not think it is necessary to use it when I can use Windows Media Player for that purpose.
